Conventionally, a combination of three chemicals, TBLS, DBLS, and LS (Tribasic lead sulphate, dibasic Lead stearate, and Lead stearate) were used as heat stabilizers along with Calcium Stearate as a co-stabilizer. Nowadays, one–pack stabilizer is used in place of the three chemicals as a Heat Stabilizer. It is made by in-situ reaction of lead oxide with stearic acid along with many other components like waxes, antioxidants, inorganic stabilizers etc, which were not there in the conventional system of single stabilizers above.
Its performance depends on two things:
The lead oxide content which provides stabilization by deactivating the chloride radical formed during heated melt processing of PVC during extrusion and by providing lubrication so that the residence time inside the screw extruder (heated zone) is reduced, so less deterioration is there.

APPLICATION OF PVC STABILIZERS
Tribasic lead sulphate, Dibasic lead stearate, Lead stearate are used as heat stabilizers while processing PVC items so that they do not get burnt/degraded due to high temperatures used in processing.
Our one packs are a combination of above and other additives such as anti-oxidants etc., all put together in one product which provides ease of handling while its function is the same as above: to provide heat stability to PVC.
