Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) is made from high density polyethylene (HDPE) polymers prepared by chlorination reaction. According to the different structures and usages, Chlorinated polyethylene resin can be divided into two categories: Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) and Elastomer CPE (CM) .
Resin CPE product is also known as type-A material and elastomer CPE rubber type-B material. Mainly used in wire and cable (mining cables, UL and VDE standards set forth in the wire), hydraulic hoses, automotive hoses, duct tape, plastic sheet, PVC profile pipe modification, magnetic materials, modification of ABS and so on.
Rubber Type CPE
In the late 1990 of 20th century, the growing domestic demand for high performance Flame Retardant rubber, especially the development of the wire and cable industry, auto parts manufacturing, have led the consumer demand for rubber-CPE.
Rubber-CPE is a good comprehensive performance, heat aging oxygen-ozone, excellent flame retardant special synthetic rubber.
Modification Type CPE
Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is part of the polyethylene chain of hydrogen atoms replaced by chlorine atoms. Mass percentage of chlorine is generally 25%~45%.
CPE, saturated polymer material, the appearance of white powder, nonpoisonous and tasteless, has excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, aging resistance and chemical resistance properties, and has a good resistance to oil, flame retardant and color performance, good toughness.
It also has good compatibility with other polymer materials, decomposition temperature is higher, and is the general Impact Modifier with high molecular weight, superior mechanical performance, general impact modifier for rigid plastic products.
